The Sant'Anna Institute is recognized for excellence in the field of independent and faculty-led study abroad programs.  The Institute is located in beautiful and historic Sorrento (Southern Italy) near the Amalfi coast.  This picturesque town is small and walk-able yet cosmopolitan. Within easy reach of Sorrento is the island of Capri, the National Archaeological Museum in Naples, Mount Vesuvius, the historic Roman ruins of Pompeii, and so much more!

There are spring, summer and fall semester program options for course credit.  Golden Key members receive discounts on these programs. Course credits are transferred by Jacksonville University (FL), which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, to the student’s home institution (by requesting a Jacksonville University transcript). Internship opportunities in a wide variety of industries/placements are also available for academic credit.


The possibility of interning during your Study Abroad in Sorrento is available during the Fall, Spring or Summer academic terms.

  • For 3 credits (150 hours), 6 credits (236 hours) or 12 credits (525 hours);
  • Academic credit for internships is transferable through Jacksonville University (FL), accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business;
  • Paired with 1-3 other academic courses including Italian language (all levels available). See the Fall - Spring - Summer - for more information on courses available.   

Internship opportunities include but are not limited to experience in: Marketing, Business, Tourism & Hospitality Management (5 star hotels), Culinary (Michelin star restaurants), Interior Design, Architecture, Journalism, Event Planning, Mechanics, Education (teaching English as a foreign language), Civic Engagement and more!

Sant'Anna program fees include
  • Application fee
  • Tuition

  • 1 excursion for summer programs and 3 excursions for semester programs

Fall 2019: Application deadline is 11 June, 2019.
2019 J-term and May-mester courses: This short term option is great, if you can't study abroad for an entire semester. This 3 credit course is for the inclusive price of $1,926. Classes include Italian language, history of the mafia and more. Application deadline is 1 April, 2019. Learn more here:
