Stetson University College of Law

Stetson is Florida’s first law school, and has educated outstanding lawyers, judges and community leaders for more than a century. Stetson Law built the nation’s first elder-friendly courtroom in 2005, designed as a model for improving access to justice in courtrooms across the country. With the latest technology, including electronic evidence displays, cameras, microphones and speakers for observing court participants and jury deliberations, Stetson’s Eleazer Courtroom was designed with the unique needs of our nation’s growing aging population in mind.

Setting the standard. Stetson sets the standard in advocacy education. U.S. News & World Report ranks Stetson Law number one in advocacy and number three in legal writing nationwide. A winning legacy in mock trial, alternative dispute resolution and moot court competitions sets Stetson apart from other law schools. Stetson is the first and only law school to win all five national trial competitions in a single academic year, and in 2005 became world champion at the Vis International Arbitration Moot in Austria. Over the past 10 years, Stetson has been honored with six national Burton Awards for legal writing.
So many choices. Stetson offers a J.D./M.B.A. dual degree program in addition to the traditional full-time and part-time J.D., as well as an LL.M. in international law and an LL.M. in elder law. Students at Stetson also have opportunities to travel the world to student abroad in Argentina, China, Netherlands/Switzerland, and Spain in the summer, can study for an autumn in the heart of legal London, and take classes in the Cayman Islands over winter break.
