When I first arrived at Kennesaw State University, I knew that I had to become a more involved student in order to not only to increase the likelihood of my future success, but to build my character as well. I joined various honors society and was despaired when I found no true connection to any of them. It was when I met my roommate, the current president of our Golden Key chapter, that I decided to give Golden Key a try. I not only joined, I ran for the vice-president position and was elected! Through Golden Key I have developed close relationships, a greater sense of leadership for my school, and the recognition I deserve for maintaining excellent grades.
Volunteering has always been a passion of mine, and Golden Key has afforded me plenty of opportunities to foster an even stronger love for helping others. Our chapter hosts book and food drives, and we get together around major holidays to make sentimental cards for nursing home patients and/or soldiers. As vice-president I am in charge of member recruitment, and I am looking forward to retelling my story as much as possible to allow someone else to find where they belong! I am proud to be a member of such a prestigious organization.
