Family Literacy Carnival Go to Chapter

Literacy weaves through all aspects of family and community life. It all begins at home. When you talk, read, play, and engage in literacy activities with your children, you provide a solid foundation in language.  You encourage early literacy, and that’s essential to their success. Family Literacy Day is a national initiative that raises awareness to the importance of reading and engaging in literacy-related activities as a family.  Students from MacEwan University’s Golden Key chapter are working with the Centre for Family Literacy to host the 8th annual Family Literacy Carnival.  Come celebrate Family Literacy Day at this FREE event for families on Sunday, January 26, 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM in the MacEwan University City Centre Campus, Heart of the Robbins.  Experience interactive, fun literacy activities, created to engage readers, pre-readers and their families in healthy learning. Over 700,000 adult Albertan’s struggle with literacy. Join us as we change those statistics!
