Frederick A. Aikens D.M.

Dr. Fred Aikens has amassed over 30 years of experience in the field of Management. He began his professional career with PepsiCo after graduating from Central State University. He worked in progressive levels of management with Taco Bell, KFC, and YUM Brands incorporated. He went on to earn a Master of Arts Degree in Management from Antioch University/McGregor; and ultimately earned a Doctorate in Management and Organizational Leadership from The University of Phoenix, School of Advanced Studies in 2012.
Dr. Aikens began his career in higher education at Central State University as an adjunct professor in 2009 and served as the assistant professor, associate professor, chair of the Department of Business Administration, interim dean of the College of Business, and the current Coordinator for the MBA program for which he spearheaded the creation. He also served as the director of the CSU Honors Program and Administrative Fellow in the Division of Academic Affairs. He is a member of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society (Lambda Sigma Chapter, 2012), and serves as the Co-Advisor for Xi Xi Chapter at Central State University. Research interests include (1) organizational ethics (2) job satisfaction (3) diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizations. Dr. Aikens has co-authored articles published in The International Journal of Asian Social Science
and the International Journal of Business Administration (JRBEM). In addition, Dr. Aikens has written grants and received funding in excess of $350,000. Dr. Aikens is very active in the CSU community. He served as vice-chair of the University Senate, chair of the Committee on Academic Policy, the CSU Institutional Review Board, the Academic Standards Committee, the Committee on Promotion and Tenure, and many ad hoc committees. Dr. Aikens is also active in online learning and uses his certification in Quality Matters to assist other institutions in developing online capacity by serving as an online course reviewer. At the state level, Dr. Aikens serves as a member of the ODHE (Ohio Department of Higher Education) TAG (Targeted Articulation Guidelines) Panel for Business. He currently serves as a member of the Chancellor’s Council on Graduate Studies, which is an advisory board for the state of Ohio school system at the graduate level. Lastly, Dr. Fred Aikens is the Chapter Faculty Advisor for the Eta Gamma Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He won an
international award for Chapter Advisor of the Year in 2013 with the fraternity.
