MOP Vaishnav College for Women
Since its inception in 1992, M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women has been committed to its goals of attracting and supporting top caliber women students in the areas of higher education. The college has since then recorded a phenomenal and continual growth. Started with just three courses – B.Com., B.B.A., B.Sc. (Maths) the college offers today 13 UG, 6 PG courses and a research programme in the Department of Commerce. The college, affiliated to the University of Madras, has strength of 3,030 students thus recording a qualitative and quantitative growth as well. The college offered itself for accreditation in its decennial year and has been reaccredited in 2009 by the NAAC (The National Assessment & Accreditation Council) with an ‘A’ grade and a 3.51 CGPA on a 4 point scale. M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women also has the distinction of being one of the youngest colleges in the country to have been granted autonomy by the University Grants Commission and the University of Madras.
