GK Scholarships: Ana Kraljević

Golden Key is pleased to introduce Ana Kraljević, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Outstanding Member Award winners. Ana is in her fourth year of study at Glendon College and plans to pursue her Bachelor’s of Education and potentially a Master’s after her time at Glendon.

“I am incredibly humbled by the honour of being selected as one of the Outstanding Golden Key Members of 2020,” Ana says. “To say that I was filled with absolute awe when I discovered that I was granted this award is an understatement. I am beyond grateful to the selection committee for their hard work and to everyone at the society for their great leadership and perseverance during this challenging time.”

Ana enjoys being an active member of her community and serving those around her.

“I currently serve as one of the Vice-President Academic Affairs on the Glendon College Student Union,” Ana shares. “I have held the title of President’s Ambassador twice in the last two years, and I engaged in Equal Voice’s renowned Daughters of the Vote program in March.”

Ana had the honor of working with the Civic Participation Pilot project this past summer.

“I very much enjoyed engaging in a Civic Participation Pilot project organized by Employment and Social Development Canada over the course of this past summer with other youth across Canada,” Ana explains.

Ana’s dedication to her schoolwork and community has helped her receive many awards this year.

“I have been very grateful to win a few other awards throughout the last academic year,” Ana remarks. “These include the Outstanding Contribution Award, the Thomas H.B. Symons Award in Canadian Studies, the Gladys Neilson Award in Canadian Studies and the Emerging Leader Award, all in great part thanks to my impressive community engagement and academic record at Glendon.”

Ana is very grateful for the opportunities she has had thus far.

“I remain indebted to the selection committee and everyone at the Golden Key International Society for this incredible honour,” Ana says. “Thank you very much for both your great service and commitment to fostering the three fundamental pillars that the Society advances and holds so dear.”

GK Scholarships: Aqsa Salim

GK Scholarships: Aqsa Salim

Golden Key is ecstatic to introduce Aqsa Salim, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Outstanding Member Award winners. Aqsa earned her Bachelor of Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology in 2016 and is working on her Masters of Engineering at Western Sydney University. 

“Thank you so much, Golden Key, for awarding me with this scholarship,” Aqsa says. “The scholarship granted to me for the sake of outstanding student in terms of academic and leadership qualities will surely help me in further nourishing myself to be a better person both personally and for the society.” 

While Aqsa is grateful for this scholarship, she also enjoys being a highly active member of Golden Key.

“The time to time workshops and the seminars are a great tool in building the level of confidence and the determination to achieve something high,” Aqsa explains. “I have always been a keen student who is eager to study and help others with my knowledge.”

Aqsa is always working hard, whether she is volunteering at the International Textile Conference or pursuing her goals.

“My ultimate aim is to benefit my homeland in the best of ways I can, and I am hoping to achieve greater rewards with consistent hard work and dedication,” Aqsa shares.

GK Scholarships: Chuck Chuan NG

Golden Key is thrilled to introduce Chuck Chuan NG, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Humanitarian and Service Award winners. Chuck earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Malaya.

“I am sincerely grateful and honoured that the Golden Key International Honour Society chose me for the 2020 Golden Key Humanitarian and Service Award,” Chuck says.

Chuck is dedicated to his education and has earned five certificates alongside his Bachelor’s and Doctorate degrees.

“This award is indeed a strong motivation to me as it will encourage me to keep moving forward to achieve greater heights in my current and future work career,” Chuck shares.

Chuck is currently an Assistant Professor at the China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences, Xiamen University Malaysia.

“With my ultimate interest in diverse fields, I often serve as an environmental activist,” Chuck remarks. “I am a highly motivated person, with a strong interest in global development, social welfare and environmental issues.”

Chuck has received many accolades throughout his career.

“Due to my outstanding attribution on the environmental development, I was featured as the Young Person of the Month in January 2015 by Opportunity Desk,” Chuck says. “Additionally, I was bestowed for the Green Pinang Certificate of Appreciation by Penang Green Council (Penang State Government). I was awarded the Golden Key Asia-Pacific Community Service award by the Golden Key International Honour Society. And I received the national K. Kumarasivam Young Environmentalist prize by Environmental Management and Research Association of Malaysia.”

In addition to Chuck’s educational endeavors and accolades, he enjoys making a global impact.

“I’m also actively involved in numerous activities and programs where I was an active ambassador member of many both local and regional environmental as well as social community organisations,” Chuck shares. “I have also represented Malaysia in several global cultural and leadership, environmental as well as scientific study exchange to the United States of America, Germany, South Korea, Japan and many others.”
