GK Scholarships: Oswin Chang
Golden Key is happy to introduce Oswin Chang, one of Golden Key’s 2021 Undergrad Achievement Award winners. Oswin is a Health Sciences Student at McMaster University and will be graduating in April.
“I am a Health Sciences student, and I chose this path because of the program’s interdisciplinary approach to pedagogy,” Oswin says. “I wanted to attend an institution that I knew would prepare me well to succeed in my future endeavours.”
Oswin hopes to create a career in the healthcare industry after finishing his education.
“I hope to pursue a career in both healthcare and research to ensure my practice is informed with the latest evidence to improve patient care,” Oswin mentions.
Oswin is beyond thrilled to receive this award.
“It is a great honour and privilege to be a recipient of the 2021 Undergraduate Achievement Award,” Oswin explains. “Growing up, my parents instilled in me the values of hard work, perseverance, and service, which guide my approach to all that I do. This award is a testament to the people in my life who invested their time and skills into me and have made my family proud, seeing their lessons and virtues resulting in positive change.”
Oswin plans to use his scholarship for school and causes close to his heart.
“This scholarship will go towards paying for my tuition as well as non-profit causes that focus on community outreach,” Oswin shares.
Oswin is a hard worker and has earned many other awards in his academic career.
“In the past, I have also been awarded the Johnson Community Service Scholarship through Golden Key, which continues to motivate me to strive for the best,” Oswin mentions.
Oswin would advise his fellow Golden Key members to “Apply for scholarships! You can’t win what you don’t apply for.”
Oswin truly enjoys the opportunities Golden Key has given him.
“I’m glad Golden Key provides opportunities for volunteer work to be acknowledged, which continues to motivate me to strive for the best,” Oswin says.
Thank you for being a part of the Golden Key family, Oswin; we wish you the best of luck on your upcoming graduation!
