GK Scholarships: Madiha Changezi
Golden Key is overjoyed to introduce Madiha Changezi, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Outstanding Member Award winners. Madiha is studying a double major in Law and Political Science at the University of Waikato.
“My sole reason for choosing Law and Political Science as my majors stems from my passion for equity, fairness and justice,” Madiha says. “I strongly believe in using my voice and my privileges to bring about the change that this world needs. Therefore, I believe that my majors will equip me with tools and knowledge to be able to do that.”
Madiha enjoys staying an active member of her community.
“There are many ways I stay involved in my community,” Madiha explains. “One of the main ways is through my part-time role as a youth worker. My role involves working with ethnic youth from migrant and refugee backgrounds to support and empower them into evolving into their best self.”
In addition to Madiha’s youth worker role, she sits on many boards and committees.
“I sit on several boards and committees of different organisations, which enables me to be more involved in my community,” Madiha shares. “This year, I was part of Y25 list, which highlights the work of 25 rising trailblazing women under the age of 25.”
Madiha’s hard work has allowed her to achieve greatness.
“I was also able to win the Interfaculty Feminist Mooting Competition alongside my partner,” Madiha comments.
Madiha is very grateful for receiving this scholarship.
“This scholarship will support me financially as well as boost my morale as it is an acknowledgement of my hard work,” Madiha explains. “Scholarships and opportunities like these are very much needed as they support students like myself who put in so much hard work, and to get acknowledged for the hard work is all we sometimes need.”
Thank you for being a part of the Golden Key family, Madiha; we wish you the best of luck with your double major!
