GK Scholarships: Tushar Sood
Golden Key is pleased to introduce Tushar Sood, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Undergraduate Achievement Award winners. Tushar is originally from Brampton, Ontario, Canada and is studying Honours Integrated Science with a Concentration in Biology and Interdisciplinary Minor in Community Engagement at McMaster University.
“Being recognized by the Golden Key International Honour Society through the 2020 Undergraduate Achievement Award means so much to me,” says Tushar. “Not only does it help fund my post-secondary education, but this award serves to remind me of my ongoing commitment to bettering my local and international communities, whether through volunteering at my local hospital or engaging in health research.”
Tushar is an exemplary student, earning multiple awards during his two years at McMaster, including the Provost’s Honour Roll, the Frank and Carol Tristani Scholarship, and the Waller Family Academic Grant.
“Most recently, I have been awarded an Undergraduate Student Research Award through the National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to fund a Summer 2021 research experience in the Faculty of Health Sciences, specifically in genetic and molecular epidemiology,” explains Tushar. “I hope to use this experience as a foundation for my future career, all while learning more about population health and the scientific process.”
Tushar is immensely grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to him during his collegiate journey.
“Overall, I am immensely grateful for the Golden Key for supporting and recognizing its members through awards such as these,” expresses Tushar.
Thank you for being a part of the Golden Key family Tushar; we hope you found what you were looking for during your Summer research experience!
