GK Scholarships: Kathryn Chatwin

Golden Key is delighted to introduce Kathryn Chatwin, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Outstanding Member Award winners. Kathryn received her Associate’s degree in Business Administration and Management from San Jacinto College in 2013. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ashford University in 2021 with her Bachelor’s degree in Business Leadership.

“I am humbled and appreciative to be a 2020 Outstanding Member Award recipient through the Golden Key International Honour Society,” Kathryn shares.

Kathyrn leads a busy life and has not always had it easy.

“I have lived just south of Houston, TX, for most of my life and had many ups and downs in my scholastic career,” Kathryn explains. “I graduated high school at the age of 16, but it took almost ten years to obtain my Associate’s degree. Working full-time and having a family creates difficulties with keeping the focus on your own school at times.”

After dedicating years of her life to obtaining her Associate’s and tending to her family, she decided it was time to pursue her Bachelor’s.

“When I decided to pursue my Bachelor’s degree, I knew it had to be when I could focus more on it and do the best I possibly could,” Kathryn shares. “In my endeavors to do just that, I am in three different honor societies, recognized on the Dean’s List for 2020, and maintained a 4.0 GPA.”

With all of Kathyrn’s hard work, she is proud to call herself a Golden Key member and to have earned this scholarship.

“Although it is a challenge, I am proud of my accomplishments, and receiving the Outstanding Member Award is icing on the cake,” Kathryn remarks. “Thank you”

Thank you for being a part of the Golden Key family, Kathryn; congratulations on your graduation!
