GK members receive Maize and Blue Award

The Maize and Blue Distinguished Scholar Award, the highest academic award bestowed upon a graduate of the University of Michigan Flint, has been awarded to four members of the local Golden Key chapter.  They are Trisiani Affandi, Bachelor of Science in Chemistry; Samantha J. Honea, Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology; Mixsy L. Trinidad, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education; and Cameron K. Waites, Bachelor of Science in Honors Health Sciences.  In addition, Samantha J. Honea and Cameron K. Waites have been selected as commencement speakers.  Congratulations to these great scholars!

Region 6 Summit

Region 6 Summit

South Dakota State Golden Key planned and hosted the Region 6 Summit. The conference opening ceremonies were held Feb. 18. From there delegates were invited to play games and relax at the Hobo Hangout and attend a dinner at the Pavilion, hosted by the Golden Key Alumni coordinator. Feb 19 the day kicked off with a business meeting, followed by workshop sessions taught by students and advisors. Students were also given the opportunity to participate in a service project for the Children’s Miracle Network. Our final event of the day was dinner and 30 frames of bowling at the local bowling alley. Feb. 20 delegates traveled home.
