Utah State CHAMP Volunteers

The Utah State University chapter of Golden Key has formed a partnership with Dr. Carol Albrecht and Dr. Jason Leiker, faculty members in the Social Work to support the College/High School Aggie Mentoring Program (CHAMP). Champ aims to motivate underprivileged high school students to attend an institution of higher education upon graduation from high school. The program connects these students with necessary resources to get them excited for college. The Golden Key chapter has been involved in the planning stages of this program and many members will serve as mentors, as well.  Throughout the program, mentors will receive training, then interact with high school students via Blackboard, meet with their assigned student and his or her parents, shadow the student at his or her high school, then host the student during a campus visit. The Golden Key chapter and CHAMP hope to make a positive impact on the students at Logan High School through this initiative!
